| ...turns out the owner didn't even want to sell it. He just wanted to run an experiment to see what it was worth. All the pages and pages of commentary that were on ebay attached to that auction outlined some dirty business on both sides of the auction. We read all that. For anyone else who did, that auction is going to leave a bad taste in their mouth for a while... |

| The guy's not an asshole, he's a bona fide member of the trike community. Don't forget that all of those high bidders were bunk too. They all had excuses and bid retractions. The value of the trike never got established because of the bogus bids. Those were just people who wanted to see the reserve. Unfortunately, the reserve was set at a stupid high price because the owner had no intention of selling it. He also had no idea how many people would break the rules of ebay just to see a bogus reserve that doesn't mean anything. Since the reserve didn't mean anything and either did any of the bids, it ending up being nothing more than a frustrating exercise for anyone involved. |
