Driving 4 hours to meet a guy half way from Georgia in Tennessee tomorrow. It's a 2006 SE (Yellow, black, white) YFZ450. Dude only wants $2500 and it looks mint! He's hurting for money...

I've seriously lost my mind! I put an offer to a friend of mine. He has an 04 with black CPIs, pro taper bars and a few other goodies. It's a clean bike! I offered him 3g which is more than its worth, but I know the history of it and its got virgin cylinders.

Dude screwed it up two days after he got it. I know he welded the ball to the rod somehow and he bent the axle and wheels. I could only imagine what it's like now. Its all good. I think I may do a project bike. If I don't get my buddies, I may get one to ride through November, then in December tear it down and do a frame up build. I enjoy building them as much if not more than riding them!

if i had it to do all over again id buy a frame with a bottom end of a motor and a wiring harness and thats it. you could buy all that for <$500.

i probably have $4500 in mine now.

if i bought one like that for $500 i would have had $4000 to play with. 4g's can build a mean machine. espsecially if you can find good used quality parts on forums.

Yea, good point! I'm keeping my options open for sure. I've got plenty of cash to play with and if I could get something cheap and build it up, that would be the way to do it.

2000 seems a little steep unless you already like the color combo.

i guess i just look at it like this. my idea of a dream banshee is:

+2+1 a arms
piggyback shocks (elka, works, yfz etc.)
extended swinger
+4 axle
custom frame color
whatever color plastics im in the mood for (prefereably silver, orange or something that was never a factory color)
4mil or 10 mil cub
bigger carbs depending on motor setup
shearer or cpi inframes
lockup
dunable override tranny
and im sure theres more

if i were to buy a $2000 banshee and take the plastics, arms, shocks, swinger, axle, pipes, top end etc off, thats just wasted money. id rather buy a junker and build it from the ground up if im not gonna use all that stuff anyway. everybody knows that other than plastics, stock banshee parts dont bring any money if you try to sell em off whatever you buy.

thats just my recipe if i was in your situation. if i could sell my banshee for what i have in it, id go that route in a heartbeat lol.
